What is equity release?

Equity release, also known as a lifetime mortgage, allows homeowners to access tax-free cash from their property while continuing to live there. You can either borrow against your home's value or sell a share of it in exchange for a lump sum or a series of smaller payments. Many plans even allow you to access more money in the future if needed.

This option is available for homeowners aged 55 and over, whether you own your home outright or still have a mortgage (which must be paid off using the equity release funds).

Is equity release a safe choice?

Yes, it is. As a fully regulated mortgage broker, we are authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), which means we follow strict industry standards to ensure you receive clear and honest advice.

With a lifetime mortgage, you’ll never owe more than what your home is sold for, as long as it’s sold for a fair market price. This means your family won’t be left with any additional debt.

What can you use equity release for?

Once the money is released, it’s entirely up to you how you use it. Many people use it for home renovations, clearing debts, purchasing a new car, supporting family members, or simply enjoying a more comfortable retirement.
